How does the Zero Waste Box by TerraCycle work?

We fill up the Zero Waste Box with all of the used and empty Re:fills we’ve received from our customers. We then ship the box to TerraCycle where the Re:fills are sorted and processed into raw materials so that they can be reused and transformed into something new, instead of being sent to landfill.

Do I have to pay for my return?

Yes, but as a thank you, we’ll add 100 points per 1L Re:fill pouch to your Fills Loyalty Account to spend online once we receive your return. We recommend sending via tracked delivery as we cannot credit you for a missing package. Learn more about Fills loyalty and become a member here.

Can I drop off my Re:fill to you?

Yes - at the return address provided. If possible, please try to let us know when you’ll be dropping by. Our studio hours operate between 9-5pm.

How can I ensure I receive my credit?

- Include your name and email address in the return.
- Only return 1L Re:fill pouches.
- Pay the correct postage.

When will I receive my credit?

Within two weeks of us receiving your return.

Can I return any other packaging?

For now we are accepting 1L Re:fill pouches only. Please do no return any of our bottles or other packaging. As our business grows we will work towards reducing our environmental impact further and hope to offer all package returns in the near future.

Formulations

Where are Leif products made?

All of our products are made and filled in Australia.

What are Leif products made from?

Our clean formulations include botanical extracts and pure essential oils.
All products are free from sulphates, parabens, sensitising soaps, drying alcohols and mineral oil fillers. Full ingredients lists can be found on the back of individual bottles and gift packaging, as well as on each product page online.

Are Leif products vegan?

Yes, all products are vegan and cruelty-free.

Are Leif products organic?

No, however our products are considered natural. Our formulas use clean ingredients derived from plants.

Are Leif products safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend speaking to a health professional before using our products.

Are Leif products tested on animals?

No, our products are free from animal testing, nor do we use any animal-derived ingredients.

Do Leif products use synthetic fragrances?

Some of our scents are created purely from essential oils while others combine EO’s with plant derived natural fragrance. Three scents (Boronia, Wild Rosella and Flannel Flower) are a blend of EO’s and synthetic fragrance. This allows our range to have a wide scent story while offering customers a choice in how their product is fragranced.

Do Leif products use preservatives?

Yes, because cosmetic formulas must be robust against bacteria. Our products use a broad spectrum preservative system which are considered safe. Within the balms / lotions: Benzyl Alcohol and Dehydroacetic Acid Washes / cleansers: Benzyl Alcohol and Phenoxyethanol.

Are Leif products greywater safe?

Yes, including laundry products.

Packaging

Are Leif bottles recyclable?

Our current bottles are primarily made from PETG, which can be recycled with specialist recycling services such as TerraCycle®. Our 1L Re:fill pouches are designed to top up PETG bottles, reducing plastic by 80%. We're currently transitioning all new bottle production to PET bottles with 50% recycled plastic, easily recyclable in your curbside bin. You can check your bottle's material on the back label of your bottle.

Do you have refills available?

Yes! Our range of hand washes, hand sanitiser, body cleansers and shampoo can now be easily replenished to give new life to your bottles. Each pouch reduces plastic by 80% when used to refill two of our 500ml bottles. Similar to our bottles, the refill pouches are only recyclable with specialist recycling services such as TerraCycle.

Is any of the Leif packaging recyclable or compostable?

We ship orders with reusable and recyclable cardboard boxes and paper packaging for cushioning. Some orders may have biofill peanuts which are made from corn starch and are fully compostable. Gift sets, magnums and travel kits come with a cotton drawstring bag which can be reused indefinitely. Our small gift boxes are not currently recyclable due to their celloglaze coating. We are always looking for ways to improve on our packaging sustainability. Please email us if you are interested in recycling with TerraCycle.

Shipping

Domestic Shipping

We ship Australia-wide with Australia Post (and TNT for pedestals). You can select from Standard or Express Post at checkout. Orders that contain hand sanitiser products can only ship with standard shipping due to aviation safety guidelines.

How much is shipping?

We offer free standard shipping within Australia on all orders over $50 and free express shipping on all orders over $150. For international shipping, you will receive a DHL Express quote at checkout based on your location.

Do you ship to PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers?

Yes, we ship with Australia Post and can ship to any address in Australia, including PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers.

Can I collect my order instead?

Unfortunately we do not have any collection options at this time.

How can I track my order?

When your order is dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking number. Simply click the tracking link to view the delivery status. You can also add a mobile number to receive updates via text as well as email.

I made an error on my delivery address, what can I do?

Please try to enter your correct delivery address at checkout as this information is automatically generated onto the shipping label. If you notice any errors after you place your order, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve for you.

International Shipping

We ship to most countries worldwide* with DHL Express. International orders may be subject to duties and taxes determined by customs in the recipient's country. You will receive tracking notifications and any customs requests via email. Please contact DHL or your local customs authority if you need assistance with clearance of items. Leif provides all relevant export information to DHL upon dispatch but importing and customs clearance is the sole responsibility of the customer.

How long does it take to receive a digital gift voucher?

Digital gift vouchers can be purchased at any time, they do not require shipping and are issued via email immediately upon purchasing.

What payment methods can I use?

We accept all major debit and credit cards via Shop Pay, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay.

My order is a gift, can I include a gift note?

Yes, you can add a gift card and personalised message for $3. The option to add a gift card will be shown at checkout with the option to choose one of three designs. Simply write your message in the space provided and we will include it with your gift.
We don't include any invoices or pricing with our orders.

I've purchased a Gift Voucher, when will I receive it?

You will receive your digital gift voucher immediately after checkout via email. You can then either print or email onwards to your recipient at a suitable time. Gift vouchers are valid for two years on leifproducts.com.

How do I create my own Leif 6pack?

Choose from our popular premixes, or create your own from the 500ml selection. Once you select six choices, click 'Add to Cart' and your cart will automatically apply the discount so the sixth item is free. No code needed. Our 6pack offer is available on our 500ml products.

I've ordered an Artwork print, what next?

Artworks are all printed and made to order on 100% cotton rag archival paper. They are sold as prints and are unframed. Please note if your order includes both Leif products and artworks, they will be shipped separately. Please allow up to 10 business days for your artwork to be made and dispatched, you will then receive a second tracking number. As artworks are made to order, they are considered final sale and are not able to be returned or exchanged. We offer complimentary shipping on all artwork purchases.
