Last week, we opened the doors to our new home in Redfern. A thoughtfully realised corner space, part showroom, part creative headquarters, and an exciting new chapter for LEIF. Family and friends, industry collaborators and loyal customers came together to celebrate the occasion, bringing our space to life with the people and creative energy that have shaped LEIF over the years.
Pomme, caterers extraordinaire, took care of appetites, tossing pizza dough sky-high and putting cans of Mutti tomatoes to good use, alongside generous plates of olives and crisp bar snacks.
Glasses were kept full with drinks from friends near and far — Mischief Brew, Grifter, Eloquesta wines, ZZVINO, HEAPS Normal and Mode seltzers. Behind the decks, Carla Uriarte spun the soundtrack, setting the tone as good conversations carried us from dusk to dark.
Once we’d polished off a slice of pizza (or three), LEIF Co-Founder Jonnie brought everyone together to reflect on the journey so far and what lies ahead for our new home. He then handed over to Holiday ’26 collaborator Florian Markus, who gave a live demonstration of his robotic plotter and creative process. Programmed brushstrokes swept across a blank canvas, with LEIF-inspired gradients taking shape before our eyes — offering a glimpse into the art and ingenuity behind this year’s collection.
The original works were available to purchase on the night, with 100% of proceeds donated to our charity partner, the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Made in Florian’s distinctive style, each piece is entirely one of a kind — richly coloured, fluid in movement and presented in a floating Victorian Ash timber frame.
From there, conversations picked up where they left off, with fresh connections, familiar faces and a well-timed boogie carrying us late into the night.
If opening night was anything to go by, there's plenty to look forward to. Our new Redfern home brings LEIF's form-focused thinking into physical form — a space to share ideas, celebrate good design and bring people together, well beyond the products on our shelves. We look forward to filling it with new collaborations, creative exchanges and plenty more occasions just like this one.
